چکیده

Inoculation alfalfa seeds with the right Rhizobium strain (nitrogen-fixing bacteria) can stimulate root nodulation and improve plant growth yield. Different inoculation methods are used to inoculate seeds; however, effect of these on germination is not well documented. In present study, was evaluated after using different methods, i.e. Arabic gum solution glucose as adhesive substances surface seeds, charcoal powder sawdust coating materials. The solutions materials were tested separately in combination. Three concentrations (i.e., 5, 12.5, 25%), alongside untreated control. Germination counts started days 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. On day 12, experiment ended final percentage (FGP) index (GI) calculated. Application sole 5 12.5% beneficial inoculated seeds. application seedbed enhances significantly (p < 0.05) compared coal powder. Moreover, a material combination (12.5%) gave higher germination. results demonstrate that either or did harm

Effect of Drought Stress on Alfalfa Cultivars (Medicago sativa L.) in Germination Stage

Drought is one of the most important natural phenomenon which affects on plant growth. Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) is an essential fodder product which has extensive and depth roots system, this advantage enables the plant to tolerate long term drought without any damage to its regrowth process. In order to measure germination percentage and rate, root and shoot growth of 6 alfalfa cultivars (...

Cultivation of Alfalfa (medicago Sativa L)

Madicago sativa Linn, commonly known as 'Alfalfa', is a tonic plant rich in proteins, minerals, enzymes and vitamins, Bulk quantity of the whole plant is required in the pharmaceutical industries especially in homoecopathic pharmacies, Hence, there is a great need to cultivate this plant for sustained supply of the drug. Use of good and adequate phosphatecontaining farm yard manure, timely irri...

Occurrence of Transgenic Feral Alfalfa (Medicago sativa subsp. sativa L.) in Alfalfa Seed Production Areas in the United States

The potential environmental risks of transgene exposure are not clear for alfalfa (Medicago sativa subsp. sativa), a perennial crop that is cross-pollinated by insects. We gathered data on feral alfalfa in major alfalfa seed-production areas in the western United States to (1) evaluate evidence that feral transgenic plants spread transgenes and (2) determine environmental and agricultural produ...

Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) Root Exudates Contain Isoflavonoids in the Presence of Rhizobium meliloti.

Root exudates of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) inoculated with symbiotic Rhizobium meliloti bacteria contained three isoflavonoids that were not found in exudates of uninoculated plants. Data from proton nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry, and ultraviolet-visible absorbance analyses indicated that root exudates of inoculated plants contained aglycone and glycoside forms of the phytoal...

Abstract Withholding alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) irri-

Withholding alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.) irrigations during the summer, a practice referred to as summer irrigation termination (SIT), can conserve substantial amounts of water in long-season desert environments; however, plant mortality associated with SIT may be substantial. Proper timing of re-irrigation is critical for minimizing mortality and yield reductions following SIT. Procedures that...
